Quarantining is not conducive to writing…. when you’ve got three children at home.

It’s been faaar too long since I’ve written a blog post. I’m about two months late. I feel slightly vindicated in my tardiness considering the world has basically shut down due to the whole COVID-19 thing. Hopefully by the time somebody actually reads this that memory will be a relatively distant one. As a result of the social distancing, I’ve been instructed to work from home for the past month, which has been great for being around my family, but has essentially halted in writing progress that I’ve made.

That doesn’t mean there isn’t any good news! My friend Chris who is coming up on the release of book 5 of his Chaos Queen quintet has finally had a moment to breath between drafts to review Eisengrau, and sent me some very favorable feedback. He had some good constructive criticism as well, which I’m working to incorporate now–including a note to potentially add a prologue, which is something that was previously considering.

But, now with that said, I haven’t submitted to any agents yet. I stumbled across Chris’ agent while back and he’s on my short list, but I was hoping to get Chris’ blessing first. Still waiting to back from him with info on that.

In the meantime, as i said, book 2 is a bit stalled until I can figure out a way to facilitate a better writing schedule while working from home. I can do it! Just gotta figure it out. I’m probably 80% done with the rough draft so I just need to square up for the final push.

I’ve got a handful of topics I want to write about, but I’m going to leave off here for today with this short update. Maybe if I’m lucky I can go sneak away to get a few hundred words down.
